Step 1: Open Safari (or any browser) and go to cardlyx.com
No App Store download required. Cardlyx runs as a mobile web app, so whatever browser is already on your phone is all you need.
Step 2: Tap "Create Your Free Card"
This starts the signup flow. You can sign up with Google in a couple of taps, or use an email if you'd rather not link a Google account.
Step 3: Fill in your details
Name, title, company, and a photo if you want one. This is the same info that would've gone on a printed card — except you can update any of it later without reprinting anything.
Step 4: Add your links and contact info
Phone number, email, social profiles, a portfolio or booking link — whatever's relevant to how you actually network. This is also where you'd turn on lead capture if you want every card share to also collect the other person's info.
Step 5: Preview your card
Check how it looks before sharing — this is what people will see when they scan your QR code or open your card link.
Step 6: Share it
Your card is now live at your own Cardlyx link, with a QR code generated automatically. Share it by:
- Showing the QR code for someone to scan with their iPhone camera
- Sending the direct link via text
- Adding the link to your email signature
Why the browser-only approach actually matters
A lot of digital business card platforms push you toward downloading an app — both for you as the creator, and often for the person you're sharing with too. That's friction on both ends: you have to install something to make your card, and they might have to install something just to save it.
